Another Valentine post, this time showcasing one of Crafty Individuals newest releases, CI-342. This is one of their Elements sets and as you can see consists of intricate hearts with other designs such as the paisley influenced stamp
The two main hearts are of such a generous size they could be used on a card by themselves but I wanted to marry them up with the beautiful vintage images from the CI glossy sheet. Alongside the hearts and images I used several CI items so I created a supply list for each project.
This Fragile Heart:-
Image from Glossy Sheet Love Letters 1
Die-cut frame
CI-342
CI-214 (letter stamped onto die cut)
CI-194 (sheet music)
CI-224 (small heart in centre of large heart)
The images from Love Letters 1 fit beautifully into the CI die-cut frames.
On all three projects I used a bottle of homemade spray ink which I diluted to varying strengths to achieve different intensity of colours and then set about staining watercolour paper, vintage seam binding, die-cuts, etc. Stamping a CI letter stamp onto the die-cut ties in with the theme of the image.
A little detail showing the stamped background. I inked the heart with Adirondack Caramel and DI in Tea Dye
The stamp used in a different way. On this heart I added a mini heart taken from CI-224
Using the same stained and stamped watercolour paper I made this postcard.
The Letter She Sent:-
CI-342
CI-017 (Text)
CI-214 (Letter on die-cut frame)
CI-256 (Cherish)
The heart once again, this time with Cherish.
Little bits of this and that
The final card follows the same theme
Forever In My Heart:-
CI-342
CI-017 (Text)
CI-214 (Letter stamp on die-cut)
CI-019 (Forever In My Heart)
The beauty of collage style stamps is sourcing little elements to use in other projects even if you are not making use of the full stamped image. Forever In My Heart is taken from CI-019 a stamp depicting a vintage woman but there is also the text, a butterfly and film strip edging. Always worth studying your stamps for these little bits.
Again stamping one of the hearts to create an embellishment. What struck me is the versatility of these hearts whether for backgrounds or creating stamped embellishments also using them for layering in a decoupage style.
The stamp I selected for the background is incredibly intricate yet stamped beautifully on watercolour paper. I always find with CI stamps that no matter the surface, time after time I achieve the result I want. Once stamped I blended the ink with my finger to soften the effect.
It will be a busy weekend on my Blog as on Saturday I will announce the winners of my Giveaway then on Sunday a new challenge theme will be announced at Fashionable Stamping Challenge. Which reminds me, the Make It A Guy Thing challenge is still open so you still have time to enter and possibly win that prize.
Soon I will be sharing more artwork using some more of the new Crafty Individuals stamps. If you are a fan of CI then why not enter the Spring challenge at Jean’s Blog. The Top 5 selected entries always win a CI stamp of their choice.
Wishes
Lynne
