Dezinaworld’s Heart Treasures is one of the many and ever increasing sheets of images available at the Dollar Sale.
The images are ideal for quickly decorate various items, as I have done with a shopping list pad. Altering notebooks is a favourite of mine but they can be very time consuming. A shopping list pad does not need to look boring and with very few supplies I decorated one with one of the Heart Treasures as the focal.
The Heart Treasure sheet was printed onto canvas printer paper. After selecting the image I stamped Cherish (from Crafty Individuals).
Tissue Tape and lace adorn the cover.
On Friday I will return with my second project using another of the images from Heart Treasures.
Wishes.
Lynne.

I am having fun playing with the latest releases from Crafty Individuals. All stamps are from the Element set, CI-329. Valerie sent me this lovely little notebook ripe for altering.
Armed with Gesso, walnut ink and various paints I started with painting the covers.
The sentiment was stamped onto stained and painted watercolour paper as was CI-194 (sheet music stamp). Lace and a pearl decorate the cover.
The back of the notebook was stamped in the same way.
Inside I stamped a bird onto each of the pages to make them pretty.
The Winged Things challenge at Crafty Individuals is still open, all details at Jean’s blog. Wishes. Lynne

Last week, June officially announced that I am a DT member for Dezinaworld. I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled I am to be working for June and creating with her stunning images and of course not only that, to be part of her incredibly talented DT. My DT work for Dezinaworld starts next week but in the meantime I wanted to make something with her beautiful Vintage Collage trio . As I was making the notebook I decided it would be a little Giveaway, after all it has been a wee while since my last Giveaway.
The Giveaway is this notebook I made using two girls from one of the Vintage Collage Trio sheets.
A B.I.A. was used to make the notebook using lace as an alternative to the wire binding. Little scraps of paper, Tissue Tape, lace, etc decorate the cover.
The rear of the notebook is also decorated with a pretty girl.
The trio of sheets consists of one with children (that is where these images come from), one with women and the third sheet, an equally beautiful sheet with images of couples.
If you would like to win this notebook then all I ask, that you leave a comment and on 20th September I will randomly select the winner’s name. If you wish, it would be lovely if you sign up to my Blog if you haven’t already done so (sign-up box on sidebar) but not necessary, this is a hassle free Giveaway. Lynne x

I cannot begin to tell you how delighted I am to announce that I am a DT member for Fashionable Stamping Challenge. Shirley is passionate about stamping as are all the DT members, talking of which, they are an incredibly talented group of stampers with a wide range of styles.
Challenge #3 is Ribbons or Lace, a theme which I am sure will be very popular. If you click the link you will find all the rules for entry to the challenge but please note that no digis are allowed, this is all about stamping, doesn’t matter what your style of stamping just make sure it is stamped artwork, please.
Now for my DT sample. All of the stamps are from Oxford Impressions’ Sewing Notions, a set that is a relatively new release.
As I love both ribbon and lace I opted to have both on my Journal.
I actually made this gift for someone, it is a Thank You gift. This person deserved more than a Thank You card and Journals/notebooks are always so useful.
The base is a purchased notebook which I covered with artist sheet canvas painted in a favourite colour Camisole Pink (emulsion paint) stamped with a selection of images.
To co-ordinate with the painted canvas I painted cardstock with the same emulsion paint which I stamped the beautiful woman sewing onto.
I still had in my stash some ribbon flowers I made for a previous project, layering them on top of lace which I dyed. The wider band of lace was dyed in a bath of coffee, the other piece of lace was dyed with a rose pink walnut ink.
Some of the stamped images were re-stamped onto scrap painted canvas to decorate the Journal.
Little bits ‘n’ pieces of lace, MOP heart shape button, this stamped element reminds me a clothing label.
Some more coffee dyed lace.
Why not head on over to Fashionable Stamping Challenge and enter your Ribbon or Lace artwork. It could be an accent of ribbon/ lace, a very feminine project or something masculine, anything goes.

Trishia, the owner of French Kissed Postcards is always so generous as each week she has a free image on her Blog for you to use in your artwork.
Recently, when I learned it was a friend’s birthday this image from earlier in the year came to mind. It is such a beautiful image and I had been meaning to use it for quite a while now. Deciding to make a notebook (using a B.I.A.) I printed the image onto a transparency.
You will be able to see that I layered the transparency onto text paper, edging with lace. The rear of the notebook decorated with Ella Blue paper, edged with lace and an Oxford Impressions postal cancellation mark.
It really is worthwhile becoming a Follower of Trishia’s blog to keep up-to-date with her free images and you can also sign up for a French Kissed Postcards newsletter. Lynne x

I am a day late with my entry for Pink Saturday but that is because yesterday I participated in Paint Party Friday. The pink artwork for this week’s entry is a notebook and tag using the beautiful Jane Austen stamps from Oxford Impressions.
Using my faithful Bind It All I made this notebook. The image was stamped onto text paper, layered onto K&co paper which I stamped the quill onto. I especially love the quote from this stamp set.
Trimmings in pink and peachy pink are the only embellishments.
Along with this notebook I made a matching tag which has the same stamp for the focal.
If I kept this tag for myself I would use it as a bookmark as there are no bulky embellishments but this is part of a gift for a friend.
Before I finish this post for today I would like to say a heartfelt thank you for the congratulatory messages that have been left for me to read over the past two weeks. Also, yesterday I took a step outwith my comfort zone by posting a painting on my Blog. When I sat down to read the comments I was so taken aback by the sweet words, words of encouragement and also artists taking the time to provide helpful advice. Wishes & Thanks. Lynne x.

Last Saturday I joined in the fun at Pink Saturday, for which I have Cindy Adkins to thank for as she was the one who mentioned Pink Saturday to me. It was about time I had another little Giveaway so in honour of a favourite colour of mine, here are my little pinkie Giveaways.
Both notebooks are the perfect size for handbags or totes. The first notebook has a beautiful image from Trishia at French Kissed Postcards (FKP Zibbet Store)which I printed onto a transparency.
The second notebook has an image from Divas D’Este’s Pretty Bonnet Girls, an image transfer onto fabric.
Keeping with the pink theme, along with each notebook there will be some hand dyed pink lace.

This little Giveaway is open to everyone, all you need to do is leave a comment. I will randomly select two names on 26th April. Lynne x
For A Friend

“I get by with a little help from my friends” (John Lennon)
There is a little story behind today’s post. Recently I received two lovely scans of vintage postcards from my friend Dot. Both postcards are family treasures which makes them that extra bit special for Dot to share them with me. What touched me even moreso is that Dot herself is not a crafter. She started to follow my Blog after she asked my Dad for my Blog’s name so that she could see what it was that I made. On seeing that I like to use images she mentioned the two postcards and wondered if I would have any use for the images.
It is always lovely to know who postcards were sent to and where they came from so I asked if she had any background information on the postcards and she was able to give me some lovely details. This is the information passed to me from Dot:-
“this image was sent to my Dad from a friend he met in Whitehaven, Cumbria. My Dad had an Aunt who lived there and they used to holiday there nearly every year. I think that he would be about 12 years old which would make this postcard about 1927. The message on it reads, “Dear Vincent, Just a P.C. hoping you are quite well, as it leaves me well at present.” from Harold.
Imagine, two young boys talking in such a mannerly fashion when you compare this to how children of that age speak to each other nowadays it is a sharp contrast.
As I sat wondering what title to give this post “For A Friend” seemed appropriate, after all the postcard was sent to one friend from another.
I wanted to make a little “Thank You” gift for Dot, using one of the postcard images, so I made this little notebook.
Covering recycled cardboard with co-ordinating fabrics I made the notebook using my B.I.A.. The image itself was transferred onto fabric (old curtain lining) before the finishing touches of lace, crinkled ribbon and fabric flowers.
Today I also have another notebook to share. Last month it was my friend Lucy’s birthday. We always include handmade gifts amongst our parcels to each other for birthdays and at Christmas.
The image on Lucy’s notebook is from Divas D’Este’s Pretty Bonnet Girls CS. Again, this image was transferred onto fabric and as with the notebook for Dot, I covered cardboard with fabric to form the notebook cover.
Pretty ribbon was added so that the notebook can be closed by simply tying.
A button and some lace added as pretty decoration.
I hope my friends never get bored of notebooks as they have to be a favourite gift giving item, along with the tote bags I make. Lynne x

Typewriters is one of the challenges underway at Gingersnap Creations. I couldn’t let this challenge pass as I own a cute stamp from The Stampsmith which was so perfect for this theme.
The notebook is made from old cardboard packaging, from a box which I covered with text paper and added my initials with letters cut from scrapbook paper and antique dimensional accent added.
The black ribbon represents the ribbon in a typewriter and of course it had to be stapled to the book.
Ideally this notebook would be propped against a vintage typewriter. Yes, I continue to daydream about the typewriter I didn’t bring home from the charity shop. Lynne x

Notebooks are one of my favourite gifts to send and receive, whether mini sized for handbags or larger sketchbook size. I like that something practical can be tailor-made to suit the person you are making the gift for and after all, everyone uses notebooks.
The stamp used is Crafty Individuals CI-285, a beautiful, generous sized stamp.
This stamped so beautifully onto stained fabric, a defined image which is not always the result when stamping directly onto fabric. As this is quite a large stamp I decided to keep embellishments to a minimum adding some dyed lace, measuring tape tied into a bow and a MOP button. To form the notebook I covered recycled greyboard with canvas which I painted with emulsion paint in my absolute favourite colour, Camisole Pink.
