When I Grow Up

As a little girl I did not dream of becoming a Ballerina although they say that’s the dream of many a little girl. Did any of you have this dream? From The Altered Element (June DT package) I received Character Construction Mannequin Cafe set. Normally I would say that Character Construction stamps are on the quirky side but this set of stamps would be perfect for anyone who knows of little or even not so little girls who go to ballet classes or even anyone who appreciates ballet.

A trio of cards – the elements I repeated are cream and burgundy (organza ribbon, scraps from recycled velvet skirt plus flat back pearls, gems and sheet music.

Dream has vintage sheet music layered to cardbase and then cream organza layered on top. A paper rose is wrapped around a florist’s pin.

Ballet – a mask and chalk ink created the pattern background. Tutu has been stamped a second time, skirt pleated and silicon glue to create depth.

Ballerine – the fun with this set is to stamp the various elements and play around with the placement of the pieces.

A final tag

The burgundy organza ribbon can be purchased from The Altered Element. Lynne stocks organza ribbon in an array of colours.

What a breathtaking trio of cards, Lynne! I’ve got 2 left feet, so ballerina dreams were never on my list either!!

These are all beautiful Lynne! No dreams of being a ballerina here! At ballet class, I was always better as a ‘character’ such as a witch! Lol! xx

These are gorgeous. You are absolutely right, because I have three nieces, all of whom these cards would be perfect for. I love this range of stamps – they are like a sophisticated version of the paper dolls I used to dress when I was a child, the ones that had tabs on?

How pretty these cards look! No ballerina here either, I didn’t have that kind of upbringing. But I did want to be an English teacher!

Great cards Lynn! I love the music paper for the background – a perfect match! I can hear the classical music floating through the air of the studio while everyone does barre exercises – yes, I tried ballet when younger, but was simply terrible!
