Well Travelled

Many months ago, when participating in a Deco Swap at Katy’s Corner Yahoo Group one of the themes was World Traveller, which was set by Jack. (Yes, this is the very same Jack who has tarnished my good name with her book portraying me as a saucy minx LOL)
Using a variety of stamps I wanted to create the impression that this couple are looking down at the city spread below them. The base colour was made up of Gesso and Whispers inks pads. Yes Whispers ink pads!! When I started stamping I had no idea that there were different quality of ink pads so naively I purchased some Whispers. One good thing is that they did not go to waste as I like to use them for backgrounds. After stamping the city (Florence?) with Timber Brown Staz-on, I wiped the ink with a baby wipe to soften the stamped image.
The base is copier paper coloured with walnut ink solution and then sprayed lightly with some homemade ink spray. I used several stamps on this page, even though much is hidden as I built up layers. This World Traveller is a learned man who keeps a journal of his thoughts and experiences as he travels.

I have not heard the story about your being a “saucy Minx.” These deco pages are so descriptive and detailed. Love all the elements that tell such a wonderful story of travel!

Jack made a book titled “The Secret Life of LM” – all very tongue firmly in cheek. Sometimes I use femme fatale images so this is what Jack based the altered book on. If you go to her Blog you will find it all there! Lynne x

I have the feeling as if I’m travelling with you to all these beautiful places! And yes, you’re right, Firenze IS Florence! Have you ever been there? The Uffizi museum is superb!! And so are both of your travelling cards, love ’em! Ira
