Carte Postale

One of my favourite challenge sites is Tag Tuesday. Louise runs this challenge site so well and always comes up with great themes. Postcards is this week’s theme. My dilemma, I had such a choice of postcard related stamps, images and actual vintage postcards. As I was having a bit of a tidy up and about to store away some Crafty Individual stamps, one of my favourite stamps caught my eye and was perfect for this challenge.
In my view Crafty Individuals are the best at creating collage stamps. The detail in their stamps is amazing and you can pick out certain elements to layer, as I have done on this tag. CI-260 was stamped onto paper inked with Distress Inks in Tattered Rose and Victorian Velvetand then I re-stamped onto cardstock painted with Camisole Pink emulsion paint, selecting the woman in the frame and the postage stamp and postmark. I used silicone glue to layer them onto the base image for dimension.
The same painted cardstock was used to form the outsize tag onto which I stamped “Postcard” from CI-239.  An indispensible set of stamps including tickets, postmarks, etc.
Completing the tag I added “carte postale”. This came from a vintage postcard which I scanned and printed onto cardstock. Other additions are some lace to create a frilly border and stamping  “Postcard” repeatedly and onto both sides of some ribbonwhich I crinkled.
