A Love Like No Other

It will come as no surprise that the cards I am sharing with you today are Mother’s Day cards.
On all three cards the images are from a new collage sheet from Divas D’Este, “Mother’s Day“. This sheet comprises six images of mothers with their daughters and one image of roses.
Printing them onto canvas paper not only gives them a tactile quality but for a special occasion card it adds an extra touch. Keeping the image as the focal point and also to suit the era, I used a subtle Laura Ashley paper adding a  stitched border. Cutting a scallop edge strip with some co-ordinating paper, adding vintage two tone velvet,  Prima blossom and a large flat back pearl.
With this image I created a more elaborate surrounding for it with two layer of K&co papers, once again with stitched borders. Trying to echo the beautiful blossom in the image I selected an apricot lace applique placing a smaller lace flower in the centre. The sentiment was cut from the collage sheet and inked with Victorian Velvet ink then layered on top of Picot edged ribbon with a cluster of  fabric roses added .
The final card of the trio. Embellished only with stitching, lace bow and some beautiful vintage lace.
I hope you have enjoyed the Mother’s Day inspired artwork I have shared with you this week. Although I created them with today in mind, the images from Mother’s Day collage sheet could be used for birthday cards, Thinking of You, etc. Lynne x
