A Christmas Ceilidh (TSC#17 – Christmas)

The first day of the month always brings with it the first of The Stampsmith Challenges (the other date being the 15th of each month) and Val is hosting this challenge, the theme of Christmas.  As always if you head on over to the challenge site you will find all the details required for entering this challenge but I will tell you that as it is the 1st of the month you can use any stamp company in your artwork.  It is worth noting that there is a Random Prize Draw for a gift voucher to spend at The Stampsmith store. The winner of the Friends/Friendship challenge draw is the incredibly talented Gerri.
Now the thought of Christmas usually splits crafters into groups:- Group A will be groaning at the prospect of anything Christmas related in July and Group B are the super organised crafters who are always  start their Christmas cards in January. I certainly don’t start in January but this year I decided to make a start earlier than normal. So here is a great opportunity to get your Christmas projects underway and enter TSC at the same time.
This is my DT sample.
The Stampsmith’s Grace (available as a single unmounted stamp) is the focal image.
I always look forward to studying the entries for all the challenges to see the various interpretations on the same theme.  Hope to see your artwork amongst the Christmas entries. Good Luck with the Prize Draw. Lynne x

Oh; Lynne! Your Christmas art is so beautiful! Love the background and chosen image! I used to start my holiday projects in July and recent years have gone by the wayside. It’s always a crunch, for me, to even think about the holidays at this time but every year I say I’m going to do it. Maybe next year?

    Love your art! xxoo

Gisele I stamped the holly onto K&co paper, tore the edges and layered onto cardbase made from gold card. Abraded the edges of the image, inked the edges and layered onto co-ordinating K&co scrap cut with scallop edged scissors and torn piece of sheet music. The ribbon down the right hand side I received from my friend Dot Arnott and I added a fabric rose. Hope that helps. Lynne x

Loving the Scottish theme to your Christmas card. I have to say, I’m with Group A and don’t own any SS stamps, but you may just have enthused me to try and win some! Thanks for some great inspiration. xx

Lynne, I’m in that groaning group:) But I love that background of the plaid mixed with the mistletoe!!! That just grabs my eye. And the bright plaid ribbon says “Scotland”! Now, if there was just something French in there, I’d say it would be a perfect reflection of you.hehehe
