Full Steam Ahead

For today’s Dezinaworld DT artwork I received the Transport Ephemera to work.I also chose to incorporate elements from Steampunk 4 which is also available in png format.
I am participating in a Postcard Swap (lasting 14 months) and thought it would be fun to make a Steampunk postcard.Transport Ephemera consists of 6 images, 5 of which I used on this postcard. The sheet was printed onto white cardstock which I distressed with inks and an emery board.
Sometimes dimension doesn’t translate on a photograph but on this postcard there is a lot of dimension which meant lots of silicone glue! Before printing  the Steampunk femme I duplicated her as I wanted to cut out the top hat to decoupage. A piece of German Scrap and bead embellish. Also from the Steampunk 4 set I printed cogs, re-sizing so I had a mixture of sizes and also the fabulous hot air balloon. You can see that behind the hot air balloon the cog which was printed onto a transparency.Brass sequins were added to a couple of the cogs.I wanted this postcard to be all about the Dezinaworld images so there are no stamps on this postcard. I also wanted to keep embellishments to a minimum  but I couldn’t resist a scrap of lace layered with a piece of torn image (from the Transport Ephemera sheet) plus  a sequin with bead.If you click the link at the top of the post it will take you to Dezinaworld where  you will see the amazing creations from my fellow DT.  Lynne x
