In A Winter Wonderland (CI Challenge)

If you are looking for details of The Stampsmith Blog Hop please scroll to previous post or click the button on my sidebar. Thank You. Lynne

I am delighted to be the host for the November Crafty Individuals Challenge. As winter is fast approaching I have chosen Winter Wonderland as the theme. Crafty Individuals have a beautiful array of Winter/Christmas stamps including some new releases. It is one of the new releases that I used for this canvas panel hanging, CI-332.My colour choice might seem slightly odd for a Winter Wonderland theme but I was inspired by a winter’s sky, when there are sweeping pink tones and the way it reflects on a frosty landscape. The 7″x5″ panel was painted with walnut ink, acrylic, emulsion, etc with shimmer created by pearlescent paint, then the edges were dipped into Deko Ice to create a frosty appearance.
Rudolph was stamped onto tissue paper and layered onto a painted canvas panel. This panel was edged with lace to create a pretty effect with the decorative snowflake dangling from under the panel. To the side, tissue paper I had painted and stamped. By partially inking the Rudolph stamp I was able to create the stamped snowflakes on the tissue. This was layered with a metal snowflake covered with Deko Ice and a pearl.
We would love to see your Winter Wonderland entries at the CI Challenge.

Hi Lynne. Beautiful! If I had not read how you had stamped on to tissue I would have thought you stamped directly on to the canvas. Brilliant effect.
