To You, I Give My Heart (TSC#27 Love & Lace)

The first of the month sees a new theme being announced over at The Stampsmith Challenge Blog.  This month the challenge set is Love & Lace.  As always there is a prize up for grabs (winner selected randomly) with The Cutting Garden ( sponsoring the February challenge!  The rules can be found over at TSC Blog and  as always we ask that you include at least one Stampsmith stamp on your artwork. Love can be depicted in any form, love between a couple, friendship, love for a pet, etc and the addition of lace can be paper lace, doilies, lace in the form of a stamp, or fabric lace.
For my DT piece I selected the stunning bridal stamp from the Portrait of a Lady plate.I reached for lace in pastel colours, creating layers before adding the centre piece of a decorative panel painted with emulsion paint and then the addition of the blushing bride. When a friend sent me the most gorgeous panel of lace with the word Love I wanted to save it for a special project, intending to use the whole piece but it is too precious so I only cut out a decorative piece to add beneath the shabby bow. By pure chance these words caught my eye on some sheet music sitting beside me as I worked on this hanging, “To You I Give My Heart”. Isn’t it wonderful when a little piece of perfect is what you stumble upon when working away on a project. Whichever way you interpret the Love & Lace challenge, we look forward to seeing your artwork.
Happy Stamping!

Not only do you make stunningly beautiful art but you know how to display them, not like some people who stick them in a plant pot by the window ! Love the frame and decorative panel and of course the most ravishing lace and image, another timeless beauty from you Lynne.
