A Place For Her Musings

Hello Everyone
As Sunday’s post was quite lengthy I thought I’d make this scheduled post a more brief affair.
Back in July, June at Dezinaworld announced a new png set consisting of 7 Marie Antionette images., now if you are fans of Marie then this set will be irresistible.
I selected the Marie I wanted to work with, setting her against a postcard image available from French Kissed Postcards.  After printing  I added some stamping using stamps from Oxford Impressions.  (Versailles plate). The notebook was covered with canvas which I  painted and stamped, layered with lace, a paper doily then the postcard image was added trimming it with picot edged ribbon and more lace.

.The bow (Oxford Impressions’ The Dressmaker) was stamped onto found paper. A ribbon bookmark was added as a finishing touch.
Thank You for visiting today and also for the lovely feedback on the altered mailer.

Those Summer Days Spent In The Garden (FSC#28)

Hello Everyone
It is that time when I can announce a new theme at Fashionable Stamping Challenge. For the next fortnight we are asking you to create Summer/Ice Cream Colours artwork. As always we embrace all styles of art but please remember that we are passionate about stamping at FSC and are looking for you to include  stamping on your entry. We have a wonderful prize up for grabs as always and you can find details of this along with rules of entry over at FSC where you will also be able to see the  amazingly inspirational DT samples from my DT sisters.
Stamps:-
Oxford Impressions:- Le Jardin
and The Fairest Flower
Apologies for this being such a long post.My DT sample started life many weeks ago as a tag. When I had my Oxford Impressions’ Le Jardin set out for the Nature   challenge I also made a tag at the same time. The tag was then stored away and forgotten about until I read Ice Cream colours and that little lightbulb lit up over my head!  However I wanted a play so decided to use the tag as a spring board.
A Crafty Individuals Shabby Tag was stained and stamped before layering vintage book text, lace, etc.  I painted the femme with H20s.The mailer was painted and stamped repeatedly. The shabby bow, picot edged ribbon and pink lace were all dyed with the same colour.  I had been dying various items with tea and realised the pink colour was perfect for Ice Cream colour theme. Now we open the mailer. Stamped labels tucked inside a pocket alongside a pretty vintage playing card.We look forward to seeing your Summer/Ice Cream Colours artwork.
Thank you for taking the time to visit, all your visits are appreciated by me.

The Women In Shakespeare’s Life Part I

Hello Everyone
Over the past few weeks I’ve shared a few pieces of art with The Stampsmith’s Portia (from Cleopatra & Friends plate). This plate has a generous six stamps on it so it was about time I introduced you to the other ladies from Cleopatra & Friends. I’ve made six tags but that would make this too lengthy a post so I am breaking it down, here is Part I.
Anne Page – This is a pretty image. All tags were stained in baths of tea/coffee, the same with most of the trimmings, etc. CleopatraIt is no exaggeration to say that I will use any scraps that are lying around. The downside, it can become a wee bit of an obsession trying to make use of the teeniest piece of this ‘n’ that!
A gentle reminder that The Stampsmith Challenge is underway for August and for this month only there is a twist, there will be two winners selected at the end of the month. All details available at TSC Blog (see button on sidebar). The prize is $21 to spend in The Stampsmith store on stamps of your choice so well worth entering but please remember that you must include at least one Stampsmith stamp on your entry.
Thank you, as always, for taking the time to visit my blog and especially when you take the time and effort to leave a comment. I will return on Sunday with the announcement of a new theme for Fashionable Stamping Challenge but remember, you do still have time to enter the latest challenge Anything Goes. Again all details at FSC, you can find the link on my sidebar.

Take Note

Hello
For this post I’d like to share an altered shopping list pad that I made as far back as May to send to my friend Alison.
The focal is Crafty Individuals CI-347, yes, my favourite butterfly stamp. The butterflies were stamped onto paper I’d prepared some time ago using dissolved walnut ink crystals and my own homemade spray ink. Seam binding dyed with the same mix. I have a few more of those altered shopping list pads that I will be sharing over the next few weeks also, I still have other artwork that uses CI-347 to share with you which were made some time ago.
If you are a fan of Crafty Individuals, have you seen their latest Special Offer? Worth a look at.
Sorry I have been absent from visiting your Blogs, I am sure I am missing out on amazing artwork which I hope to be able to visit soon.

The Dancer

Hello Everyone
A very quick scheduled post today where I’d like to share a tag I made some weeks ago for my art friend, Marie. This tag features an image from French Kissed Postcards (Zibbet store). I love this image of Cleo de Merode set against French music and script.
The tag base is one of Crafty Individuals’ indispensible Shabby Tags. I then layered pieces of lace I’d dyed in tea bath and fragments of text and Tissue Tape to highlight those elements that are part of the image. You may already be aware of this if you are a Follower of Trishia’s FKP Blog but if not, you might be interested to know that she has a free image available for you to use in your art.
Thank you for taking the time to visit especially as I have not been around much this past week. You know that I always hope to catch-up with what you have been creating at some point.

This Face That Tells A Story (TSC#33 – Anything Goes)

Update:– I’ve only found out myself that there are to be two winners for the month of August so well worth checking out the details at TSC Blog.

Hello Everyone
Is it only me or are you shocked that it is now August, I have no idea how we have managed to reach the eighth month of the year already! Anyway, a new month also means a new challenge over at The Stampsmith Challenge. For challenge #33 we are saying Anything GoesAs always please remember to include at least one Stampsmith stamp.
My lovely friend Dorthe showed great patience as she waited for her birthday gift to arrive from me. As she has now received her birthday parcel I can share one of the gifts I made for her. If you visit my Blog regularly you will recognise this face as Portia, this time I made a piece of wearable art for Dorthe, or instead of wearing it can be pinned to a tote bag.
You would last see Portia on the canvas I shared on Sunday. Portia is available on the Cleopatra and Friends plate. I’m becoming very fond of this stamp. If you are interested in joining us then you will find all the details at TSC Blog (link at top of post). Over there you will also see the winner for July’s prize draw and the Top 3 selected entries for Christmas In July and as well as that you can see what the other DTs created for August.
Thank you for visiting today. I always appreciate your visits and it is lovely to sit and read the comments you leave for me.
