Wish (FSC#37 Mask It)

Hello Everyone
We have a new challenge theme at Fashionable Stamping Challenge. For the next fortnight we are asking you to Mask It.  We keep rules to a minimum at FSC but please include stamping on your entry and sorry, no digi’s allowed.  Every challenge is sponsored and to read the details of this fortnight’s prize just click the link above. Also while you are there you can view the amazing DT samples from my DT sisters.
My DT sample uses Oxford Impressions stamps, Soul of the Rose was my first ever Oxford Impressions plate I purchased, it really is the most beautiful plate of art stamps and wish  is from Sleigh Bells. Below are links to the Oxford Impressions’ store for both plates.
Soul of the Rose
Sleigh Bells
This post was drafted and set as a scheduled post days ago but with the tragic events that took place on Friday and when I was looking at this image I wanted to write a few heartfelt words however, what is there to write  that can make sense of such horrific events, events that have not only shocked and touched the hearts of Americans but all of us no matter where we live in this world of ours.
DIGITAL CAMERAAs I had in mind the palest of colours for this altered canvas I chose not to paint the stamped image (a beautiful reproduction of the Luini painting) however I did want this canvas to dance when it came in contact with light so I added dashes of glass glitter to the stamped image and beyond as the lace also has glass glitter added and you can see the use of it on the metal frame.
Before I get too ahead of myself you might be asking yourselves about the Mask It part,  well it is the background where I made use of Crafty Individuals Elegant Swirls set  (stencil/mask) and molding paste.  To add shimmer and sparkle I added a mix of tinting medium and glass glitter.lynne1The canvas in full. A most  delicate shade of pink painted onto the canvas before I applied the molding paste. alteredcanvaslynnemoncrieffAll embellishments were either white/creamy white or I dry-brushed with Gesso lynne4We look forward to viewing your Mask It entries at FSC, whether it be cards, tags, art journal pages, anything goes!
Just to finish by saying Thank You for all your visits and comments this past week especially at such a busy time of the year and when I posted probably a bit more than normal add to that I have fallen behind with catching-up on your artful creations, it is much appreciated.
Wishes
Lynne

Beautiful Lynne, and a brilliant idea about the masking/glitter (gonna ‘borrow’ that for something today which has been sat awaiting ‘divine intervention’ and there you are!)

Who wouldn’t melt when they see this creation Lynne it is so adorable plus your words relating to the tragedy are so heartfelt.

It is so hard to comprehend that another human being could do such a cruel thing.

So beautiful Lynne, not only your art but your words. I was sickened by the tragedy in CT. It sparked more grief, in me, and I just cannot believe that something of this magnitude could happen. Just when we think we deal with one – another bigger and more hurtful happens. My prayers are with the victims and their families and the survivors who have to endure this trauma in their minds. xxoo

This is so beautiful, Lynne! The image is so touching and I love that you added the glass glitter to the medium! I will be trying that! We can’t ever know how such a horrific event can occur. These poor families will endure a lifetime of pain and loss. The children that survived will have that day forever on their minds. Very sad day in America and for the world! Hugs!

What a beautiful piece Lynne. I love the stamped image and the use of the glass glitter. ( Adding this stamp set to the wish list ) Found it quite difficult to obtain Oxford Imps and Stampsmith Stamps. The Craft Barn certainly ordered a set for me the last time but it takes time and I usually have an idea in mind.

Like you there are no words that you can say when there is a horrific event such as this. Everyone is certainly in our thoughts and prayers.

    Hugs
