Shine On Beautiful Butterfly

Hello Everyone
A quick post to share with you of a card I made for a friend’s birthday where I have used a variety of Darkroom Door stamps.

Flourish Texture Stamp
Full Bloom Vol 1

Black cardstock is something I rarely use but it was when I thought about playing with mica powders for this card that I decided to reach for some black cardstock to heighten the effect of the powders.
butterflydarkroomdoorlynnemoncrieffDoes anyone know how to photograph mica powders?!! I certainly had a struggle.
Along with the mica powders I also dipped into some gilding waxes, randomly applying here and there, not only on the butterfly but also on the background and sentiment.twoSome lovely teal velvet ribbon is all I embellished the card with.
I definitely would not want to work with black cardstock all of the time but now and again, yes, I could see that I might try and use it a little bit more often.
Many Thanks for your visit to this post.

Your butterfly is fabulous like that Lynne, so beautiful that it needs almost nothing else to shine! I agree with you, sometimes it’s hard to think to use our black cardstock or black Gesso, though the result can be so gorgeous.. Great idea for this card, your friends will treasure it I’m sure. Hugs, Coco xx
