Smile of Friendship Part II

Hello Everyone
In this post HERE I shared two cards published in the Spring issue of The Stampers’ Sampler with a note to say that I had split the collection in two and would be sharing the other two cards another time, well here they are.
lifeisfunlynnemoncrieffoneAs with the previous cards I used Darkroom Door photobooth images as the focals with various Darkroom Door stamps to create the backgrounds and the word tiles.lifeisfunlynnemoncriefftwoTorn pieces of fabric feature on all the backgrounds, floral fabrics and muslin with layers of paint.  You can see also the Gesso which I scraped onto the panel for added texture and highlights.lifeisfunlynnemoncrieffthreeStamping with paint also features.2.4The final card.fourI really do like those Photobooth images so much and as they are on quality cardstock it means they will happily take some heavy distressing!  I abrade the edges and also use an old emery board to distress further.  4.1In the background, the random areas of flourish, that is a Texture Stamp stamped with paint.  The Texture stamps are amazing for not only a complete background but so easy to add small areas of stamping and the range is being added to all the time.
4.3Quite a few colours were used on the background to tie in with the colours from the fabrics.
4.4So there we have it, the final cards in this collection. I still have some other card collections which I have been fortunate enough to have published over the past weeks and will share with you every now and then.
As always, thank you for your visits which really do mean so much.
Wishes
Lynne

Dear Lynne, as we know each other so very well, I will not pretend to be in love with especially the strong green colour you used, but somehow this cards, could not be without it, in your compositions using the lovely pieces of fabric as guideline for your colour choices. It fits in, and makes these wonderful cards like joyful spring ,with laughter, and happiness ! Great how you scraped the gesso here and there, and all the positive words used in same wonderful colour tones !! It must have been fun stamping with paints, using the coloured cheececloths- and stamping the words on prepared pieces of cardstock. They are gorgeous!

These are lovely Lynne and again it’s the backgrounds you create which set off the images so brilliantly. I’m still trying to drag myself towards mixed colours and patterns which I love but can’t quite force my hand to choose. Keep inspiring me please.

These photobooth images are indeed delightful. I love how natural the people are and how sometimes they look just a little self-conscious: this seems to be the case with the first one especially. The distressing is excellent and I love how you used the floral fabric and the muslin. Also Lynne, you are so gifted when it comes to stamping. I love the effects you achieve in your backgrounds and with the text too. Once more I am not surprised that these gorgeous cards were published. xx

They have brilliant life and energy Lynne, colour choices and all elements work fabulously together. The first two young ladies look as if they have the whole world in front of them to choose from. Makes me ponder how I was like that once and golly where did all those in between years fly off to. Oh to have a second chance! Hope your week is going well Lynne. Congrats on yet another publication! Nicola x
