Hello Everyone
This is a peek at my DT post for That’s Crafty this Sunday.
It was actually made a wee while ago, a birthday card for a friend. If you visit That’s Crafty on a regular basis, this is a card I sent along with the doorhanger which I shared at That’s Crafty not so long ago. The post can be viewed HERE.

Woolen Mittens Giveaway!
27 Nov 2015 48 Comments
Giveaway Is Now Closed … Thank You to all of you who joined the Woolen Mittens Giveaway. I hope to announce the winner at the beginning of next week, once I take note of who has their name added for a 2nd or 3rd time. x
Hello Everyone
A Giveaway is long overdue!
You continue to be such loyal friends to my blog that it was surely about time that a Giveaway was in order. I have to give a big shout out to the lovely Suzanne from Oxford Impressions who generously donated the main item in this Giveaway, the Woolen Mittens stamp set. To my knowledge, this stamp set is only available, at the moment, directly from the Oxford Impressions on-line store.
If you have never worked with Oxford Impressions stamps then I have to tell you, they are of the highest quality. This is a collection of 21 stamps with a winter/festive theme but as with all Oxford Impressions stamp sets, they are so cleverly designed that most often, the stamps can be used beyond their intended theme. There is a lovely bird and lamb on this set along with text stamps and that little boy could be used for birthdays or any mixed media art. For a closer look at the stamp set click the link below this photograph.
One winner of this Giveaway will win the following:-
Oxford Impressions Woolen Mittens stamp set
PLUS:-
1 Prima Relics and Artifact designed by Sandra Evertson
Kraft bags
Santa stocking
Pearl embellishments (a sheet of 70)
Pompom trim
Crystal trim
If you would like the chance of winning the Woolen Mittens Giveaway then it is simple.
. Please leave a comment here or at my Facebook page where this post will also be displayed. If you leave a comment in both places then your name will be placed in the hat twice.
. If any of you want to take the trouble to add the button to your sidebar then please let me know and that will count as an extra opportunity to win this Giveaway.
Giveaway is open to everyone no matter where you stay in this world of ours with the closing date of December 5th, in the hope that I can mail it out to the winner in time for Christmas … so not much time if you wish to enter!
Good Luck Wishes

Learning To Fly (Take Ten)

Hello Everyone
In the Autumn issue of Stampington & co’s Take Ten I was so pleased (note that as really, really, really pleased!) to see they had featured a collection of cards featuring Darkroom Door feather stamps, which I’d submitted.
There are four cards in the collection, in this scheduled post I am sharing three (I will confess, it is because I managed to somehow delete the photos for the fourth card!)
The idea behind this collection, beyond wanting to create cards with the beautiful Darkroom Door feather stamps, was to try to bring a sense of nature with an emphasis on textures
and to also feature words or sentiments relating to nature but are also affirmations for our own daily lives.
Maybe we should remind ourselves to give permission to allow us to fly and see where we land, to not be held back by our own fears or by words from another.Knowing from the outset that I wanted a tactile quality to each card, also not forgetting that each card needs to meet the 10 minute criteria for Take Ten, I simply stamped each feather onto muslin, fraying the edges.
Rummaging around I gathered twine, burlap, beautiful textured paper, handmade paper and even fragments of bark,
adding a hint of colour with paint splatters to mimic the colours of a bird’s egg.
I hope you have found your wings.
Wishes and thanks for taking the time to visit this scheduled post. Normal service will resume very soon when I return with more Christmas/winter related artwork.

is give
a chance
Some would say it is the sub-conscious at work, some might say it is simply that I now have stamps, with the word Peace, at my disposal to ink up. Whatever it may be, possibly a bit of both, I seem to be returning to this word and this was actually all before the most recent attacks, on the Russian plane and on Paris.
The trio of tags were made to attach to gifts I would be sending and also a way of working with the Crafty Individuals CI-488 stamp. I quickly took some photos of the tag attached to the gift, which I was organising to pop into the mail. Editing the photos for this scheduled post, that particular photo, with the Peace tag, has taken on a new significance in light of the recent tragedies.
CI-448, Festively Curly Words
On a lighter note, the latest Crafty Individuals challenge, Winter Frost, is well underway and you are welcome to join the challenge. Click HERE to visit the CI blog for details on entering your artwork.
If you are interested, the tags are simply made by stamping onto and collaging together various cardstock and papers which I painted and sprayed with metallics, with a torn piece of fabric (thank you Dorthe!) attached and simply adorned with rhinestones/pearls.
Many thanks for your visit to this blog post and wherever you are…. Stay Safe.

Angel Delights
17 Nov 2015 20 Comments
Hello Everyone
Recently I received from my lovely friend Dorthe a package in the mail. So many of you know Dorthe and her art and I’ve certainly shared here, many times, gifts of friendship received from my lovely friend.
Dorthe creates the most exquisite art whether with fabric or paper, working with soft natural colours and with many elements from Mother Nature. For me, I will always associate Dorthe with art dolls which I am so lucky to have a few of her dolls keeping me company. Well look at this sweetness which arrived in the mail for me, as a complete and utter surprise!
A detail of the angel shows the wings and her sweet crown.
Also inside the package was this beautiful collage card with the colours of Autumn
and if I was not being spoilt enough, look what else Dorthe gifted to me, the sweetest package of stars and snowflakes, vintage style die-cuts and cute wooden shapes.
Dorthe, thank you so much for the most beautiful gifts and for being such a lovely friend.
Wouldn’t this world be a kinder place if it was brimming over with the beautiful warm hearts within the arts and crafts community, where friendships are so easily formed and caring seems to be second nature for so many people, people such as Dorthe.

Hello
I made a promise I would not be bombarding you with Christmas/winter artwork yet here I am, already breaking that promise, by sharing another sample I made for the Crafty Individuals Winter Frost Challenge.
At the time of making the ornament featured in this post HERE, I also made another ornament, working with the same or similar materials and with the same set of stamps, CI-446.
I have been dipping quite a bit into metallics (paints, sprays and other various medium) for Christmas/winter 2015. In previous years I have favoured white on white with shimmer and sparkle as my absolute first choice and also forcing myself to dip into bolder use of colours, such as the cards featured over at Somerset Place (I still haven’t fallen in love with those cards … more on them in a future post) and I also really like Kraft with Gesso and sparkle for Christmas but this year I have been drawn to metallics, in other words, expect more projects featuring metallics!
Most times I work in multiples. It wasn’t always the case and I don’t know if I have fallen into this habit due to submitting artwork to Stampington, especially when it comes to cards when I tend to create a collection. Like I say, I don’t know the reason but most times it is the way my mind works, make one and before I know it, I am in the middle of preparing a second or third!I would have liked to have had the ornament hanging up when photographed so you could see how the metallics catches the light but it just wasn’t happening to had to give up and photograph it laid out flat.
For this and the Noel ornament I wanted to slightly change the appearance of the cardstock, beyond the painting and the stamping. Initially I thought about a Fresco Metallic or Pearl Glaze but when I saw a bottle of Ice Resin Paper Sealant I decided to use that and have to say I really liked the outcome – not that you can really tell by way of the photograph.
A trio of rhinestones simply adorn the front and hopefully add a wee dash of elegance.Thank You for your visit to this blog post and remember, if you have any Crafty Individuals products in your stash and want to create some Winter Frost artwork, then click the link at the top of this post to visit Jean’s Crafty Individuals blog to read details on how to enter the challenge.
Many thanks for your visit to this scheduled post. My next scheduled post will be Sunday, for That’s Crafty.
(I linked up to Prima’s 6th Day of Christmas as my ornament features a beautiful Relics and Artifacts wing)

Glad Tidings She Sends (The Stampers’ Sampler)

Hello
This will be quite a quick scheduled post, sharing only one card and no story to it!
This card appears in the latest issue of The Stampers’ Sampler, featuring stamps from the Christmas Wish set by Oxford Impressions (also available in the U.K. from That’s Crafty) along with a lovely sentiment from Redlead Paperworks. Redlead really do have some of the most wonderful sentiment stamps on the market.
The background is the same as the card appearing in this post, HERE. Kraft, Gesso, snowflake stencil and lovely Maimeri Iridescent Paste (also available from That’s Crafty).
A scattering of vintage mica flakes in different colour ways and as Christmas is a time when that extra dash of sparkle is acceptable, the card was edged with glass glitter.
Many thanks for visiting this post, your visits are always appreciated.
