Valentine Memories (The Stampers’ Sampler)

Hello Everyone
Last year I received a fabulous bundle of Valentine themed goodies from the lovely Chris and Sharon, Redlead Paperworks. The timing meant that I had little time to play with them before Valentine’s Day was upon us but I knew that as submission dates rolled around I would try and create a card collection to submit to The Stampers’ Sampler.  Of course, there is never any guarantee of being published, so I was delighted to be lucky enough for them to appear in the latest issue of The Stampers’ Sampler.
There are four cards in total, all with a wonderful photobooth image as the focal, surrounded by sentiments and hearts from Redlead. The colour palette, although it doesn’t translate very well in my photographs, was inspired by a bygone era of a young American presenting a box of candies to his sweetheart. I was thinking of chocolate, nougat and possibly some soft centres of strawberry cream. I do have some fanciful notions at times!!!!lovebloomsoneI didn’t create a masterboard as the panels were made individually, slightly altering the stamps used for the backgrounds however each panel had Grungepaste and paint applied for a very  textural appearance, slightly grungy.   If I remember correctly, for this background there were areas where I actually stamped into the Grungepaste.lovebloomstwoRedlead have some wonderful sentiments for Valentine’s Day, saying that they could be used for anniversary cards or wedding cards or “just because”.loveisintheairEach photobooth was distressed with an emery board, at times peeling the layers apart to distress further.loveisintheair.1I randomly stamped then applied a layer of paint to push back the stamping, before repeating the process.followyourheartoneHere you can almost see the layers of words peeking from beneath the uppermost layer of stamping.followyourhearttwoEach card was simply embellished with scraps of fabric, stained lace, stained seam bindinglovemetenderwith a stamped, cut out heart,  creating a detail here and there.
lovemetender.1Another time I will share with you more Valentine themed artwork featuring Redlead Paperworks, not promising I will manage to squeeze them all in before the 14th!
Many thanks for taking the time to visit.
Wishes
Lynne

The non-traditional colours work so well with the photo booth images – they look as though they have been ‘found’ after being stored away for many, many years – wonderful! Congratulations on the publication too! Hugs, Anne xx

So lovely cards, Lynne, and such depth you create by adding layers of stamping and paint , it looks beautiful- as does your chocolate, nougat and soft strawberry cream color tones, yum, I would have such fantasies ,too dear ,lol. I love your fantasy which always makes pretty stories for us to see.
The old pictures are great on the soft cookie tones, and so lovely with the laces, and cut out hearts, together with sentimental words, on each card.
CONGRATULATIONS for being in Stampers Sampler, again, they love your art ,just as much as we do !!

Lynne, These cards are spectacular! A regular ‘quadutopia’ of love, I’d say! (I just made that word up!) I love the backgrounds–they look like stucco’d walls that have been decorated with graffiti of love 🙂 Your touches of fabrics and laces just adds that extra vibe of romance to each card–I can feel the love you created these with! Congrats on having this collection published!! Soooo deserving of the honor!! XOXO-Shari
