In The Stars (Somerset Studio Gallery)

In the Summer issue of Somerset Studio Gallery I am so happy to have a Spotlight on four mixed media panels featuring PaperArtsy products:- stamps, Grungepaste and Fresco chalk acrylics.
This is a photo heavy post so I will keep chat to a minimum!onelynnempaOn each panel I wanted the texture to be prominentonetwolynnempaand on each, a star would be the focal alongside sentimentsonethreelynnempaand sparkle.onefourlynnempaNo. 2twolynnempaA hint of yellow to represent the sun.  I was so happy at the texture achieved on this area of the panel.twoonelynnempaNo. 3threelynnempaSmudges of Pewter catches the light beautifully alongside mica flakes.threeonelynnempaI absolutely love Sara Naumann’s word stamps as it is so relaxing to play around with the words to form my own sentiments.

Doesn’t time just disappear when you have paints and stamps and set to work on backgrounds.  I’ve said ofte.fouronelynnempaThe changing colours of the panels depending on how the light catches the paint and mica flakes.
fourtwolynnempaGrungepaste is a “must”.  I’ve used other texture pastes but nothing compares to Grungepaste for that perfectly imperfect grungy quality.fourthreelynnempaIt was fun to let loose with texture on each of those panels even though the style is bolder than my “norm”.
This was a big issue for me as my artwork also graces the cover!1som-gal1602-somerset-studio-gallery-summer-2016-300x300
Thank you so much for your visit.

They are so gorgeous with your exiting background of textures, dear Lynne, -love the mica, papers, and tulle, -it all creates a beautiful day going into night ,for me. Yes a little stronger colors than usually , but it gives that special feeling of early beautiful night , which is wonderfully achieved , my so clever friend. Congratulations again for everything posted in this issue, you so deserves it. xx

These lovely stars really do make one a “star-gazer”! They are stunning. I didn’t have to look for the name when I receive my magazine! They just jumped out at me and saying “from Lynne Moncrieff”! LOL Once again, I am so impressed with your creative ability to make just the right background for your subject. The Grungepaste really stands out within all those colors, mica, and paints. I am a word fanatic and so appreciate your use of words in your artwork. (and thank you for all the references to your sources!). I love these colors, textures and those words! Thank you again, Lynne, for sharing your lovely pieces and information with us.
