Hello
I have neglected this Blog and it is sad because I adored Blogging and the connections made through Blogging was so important in my creative life. I will try, now and again, to share some past projects which for whatever reason, have been neglected by me to share there, on Instagram and FB. I am finding, more and more, Instagram is more accessible for me but want to try to keep my Blog going, if possible.
Anyway, today I have a project which appeared in the February issue of Craft Stamper. With a heart theme set, I turned to the beautiful hearts from That’s Crafty (available in various sizes whether in MDF or white/greyboard) and I have to say a stamp which I never tire of inking up from Catherine Moore’s Character Constructions stamps.
I seem to have lost several photos I took at the time, before sending to Craft Stamper. This is how I packaged up the journal and ATC which I then popped into a glassine bag. Torn calico, stained with Infusions, wraps around both ATC and journal and I also made a tag to co-ordinate, the tag is another That’s Crafty product, one of the smaller sized MDF tags. This is the journal, with ATC placed upon it.
A textural cover with the detailing of the Character Constructions stamps and the beautiful wings are of course, from That’s Crafty! Quiet Strength Takes Courage, one of my Affirmations stamps which I feel suits this image so well.
Within the feature in Craft Stamper, I write in the intro …
Sometimes, when life throws challenges in our way, we might need to seek a place to jot down worries, thoughts, niggling doubts or dreams that we are not ready to share with others. The Heart and Soul Journal is such a place, a place to build inner strength.
Gratitude to Craft Stamper, Trish Latimer for having me share this project and to That’s Crafty and Catherine Moore for creating inspirational projects which not only allow for creative fun, they allow for me to take the ideas within my head and have them materialize.

Hello
Over at the That’s Crafty blog today, I am sharing this project which was made earlier in the year for That’s Crafty’s appearance at Stitches.
It’s quite a grungy piece but unfortunately the colours didn’t really “take” very well in the photograph, it is more slate blue than it appears.
If you are interested, all details can be viewed HERE.

It’s In Your Heart, To Live For Today

Hello
Not so long ago, Crafty Individuals released new stamps, amongst them CI-468., which can be used to stamp a block of various sentiments/words, useful for creating speedy backgrounds but you can also zoom into particular sentiments to make them the focal of your project. That’s what I decided to do for this heart.
The heart itself is ceramic, lovely and smooth but for someone who likes texture, it had to get the rusty, dusty treatment!
Live for Today was stamped onto fabric scrap which had previously been stained.
Layered onto corrugated cardboard heightens the textural elements with scraps of beautiful re-cycled waste silk sari ribbon. I didn’t stain the sari ribbon, it is a beautiful oxblood colour.
Layered beneath the sentiment are three Bohemian Jewels. They are from RELICS & ARTIFACTS and were just the perfect something to add. They are available in various colours, you can view them HERE.
RELICS & ARTIFACTS Dresden Trim is what I edged the heart with, of course, also giving this the rusty treatment. You can view the full range of Dresden Trim HERE.

Thank you for your visit.

Hello
Today, at the That’s Crafty Blog, I am sharing another Stitches sample, this time working with a frame from one of the new That’s Crafty Surfaces shrines. This frame is from a large shrine but if you were to purchase a shrine, you receive a frame plus shadowbox – I received extra frames to play around with which is why I decided to use it in this way.
If you would like to read how I set about making this and the supplies used, then please click HERE.
Many thanks for your visit to this scheduled post especially as it has been an active week and I will be following this with another post very soon.

Love Notes (The Stampers’ Sampler)

Hello
Squeezing in this collection of Valentine themed cards.
Now, the reason the cards are so simple in design, they were actually submitted to Take Ten (criteria is for card makes of 10 minutes or less) but they obviously decided to print them in The Stampers’ Sampler, where they appear in the Jan/Feb/March issue.
Redlead Paperworks Musical Heart stamp is the focal for each card. I remember at the time of making the cards that I wanted to work with only that stamp as the main image, pairing different Redlead loved themed sentiments with the heart.
The watercolour paper provides a lovely texture.
I deliberately worked with only two paint colours, Frescos Blush and Nougat. In fact minimal supplies:- 2 Frescos, 1 ink pad, 1 focal stamp, various sentiments and fragments of found papers and lace.
For the musical note accents, I simply
inked up the Musical Heart,
stamping onto various found papers to layer to the cards
Redlead’s complete Valentine stamp collection can be found HERE.
Not relating to Valentine’s Day, Redlead have, at the time of scheduling this blog post, a 20% discount on new stamps.
Thank you so much for your time to visit this post.

Hello
Recently, for That’s Crafty blog posts, I have been sharing many Uprights so I thought I would dip into their earlier substrates and decided to work with one of the white/greyboard hearts, which were, along with the MDF hearts, great favourites of mine so long overdue to have a play again.
The focal is one of the beautiful new PaperArtsy Eclectica LPC stamps.
If you would like to read and see more, then please visit HERE.
Many thanks for your visit and also, thank you to my lovely friend Dorthe because she gifted to me that pretty sheer fabric with floral details.

Hello!
Today is the penultimate Valentine paper doll.
As with the previous posts this week, the paper doll comprises Character Constructions stamps and for this project, a That’s Crafty white/greyboard heart, which has become a fun piece as I adhered it to a painted and stamped wooden stick.
She is approx 4″ x 11″
A Dinky Stencil was used on the heart, you can just about make out the design.
It’s such a lovely stencil, this is the link HERE, TC038
This LOVE banner was made from the individually stamped letters (from Paris Flea set), forming it into a shabby banner. (The V appears to be shy!) She also holds an envelope.
Could that sweet flower be a wrist corsage from her sweetheart?
Thank you so much for staying with me for this week of daily posts. One more paper doll and then we will return to normal!
