Hello
Squeezing in this collection of Valentine themed cards.
Now, the reason the cards are so simple in design, they were actually submitted to Take Ten (criteria is for card makes of 10 minutes or less) but they obviously decided to print them in The Stampers’ Sampler, where they appear in the Jan/Feb/March issue.
Redlead Paperworks Musical Heart stamp is the focal for each card. I remember at the time of making the cards that I wanted to work with only that stamp as the main image, pairing different Redlead loved themed sentiments with the heart.
The watercolour paper provides a lovely texture.
I deliberately worked with only two paint colours, Frescos Blush and Nougat. In fact minimal supplies:- 2 Frescos, 1 ink pad, 1 focal stamp, various sentiments and fragments of found papers and lace.
For the musical note accents, I simply
inked up the Musical Heart,
stamping onto various found papers to layer to the cards
Redlead’s complete Valentine stamp collection can be found HERE.
Not relating to Valentine’s Day, Redlead have, at the time of scheduling this blog post, a 20% discount on new stamps.
Thank you so much for your time to visit this post.

Hello
To start this new week, I thought I would share some Love Tokens, a collection which appears as an article in Somerset Life., obviously I am absolutely thrilled!
Supplies
All paper doll elements are Character Constructions stamps
Love/Valentine themed sentiments are Redlead Paperworks
Heart is from Oxford Impression, With Love (also available from That’s Crafty)
The How-to for making this collection appears within the article so you will appreciate why I do not want to share those details here.
Friends of my blog will recognise this mischievous face as I have inked her up countless times since the release of the Paris Flea collection in 2016. I cannot imagine I will ever tire of her.
A love sentiment on the rear of each tag.
A new favourite rests beside an old favourite, one of my oldest Character Constructions stamps, she is from the French Laundry collection.
Each tag has a kraft pocket.
Variations of the first two tags, making four in total.
Red and white are not colours I find appealing but I wanted this collection to have a Retro Valentine feel as opposed to shabby chic Valentine.
Gathered and bundled,
with another Redlead stamp featuring on the tag.
Thank you so much for your visit.
Have a lovely week.

Hello!
Today is the penultimate Valentine paper doll.
As with the previous posts this week, the paper doll comprises Character Constructions stamps and for this project, a That’s Crafty white/greyboard heart, which has become a fun piece as I adhered it to a painted and stamped wooden stick.
She is approx 4″ x 11″
A Dinky Stencil was used on the heart, you can just about make out the design.
It’s such a lovely stencil, this is the link HERE, TC038
This LOVE banner was made from the individually stamped letters (from Paris Flea set), forming it into a shabby banner. (The V appears to be shy!) She also holds an envelope.
Could that sweet flower be a wrist corsage from her sweetheart?
Thank you so much for staying with me for this week of daily posts. One more paper doll and then we will return to normal!

Hello
Today is No. 4 of the paper dolls I am sharing from the latest issue of The Stampers’ Sampler.
She is approx 4.5″ x 9″
If you love details then Character Constructions stamps allow you to while away the time adding all manner of details. That fabulous sparkly heart was a gift from lovely Dorthe Hansen, perfect to add a touch of glamour to a stamped bow.
Those stripey sleeves are such great stamps, the instantly inject fun into a paper doll.
The wooden heart receives a pretty trim edging, that sweet trim I received from an art friend, Clintine Steele.
This paper doll does like a hint of bling! Tiny rhinestones form a bracelet.
I love the stripey tights as much as the sleeves.
Look at the tiny rhinestones on her shoes!
Thank you so much for your visit to this post.

Hello!
Character Constructions Valentine paper doll number 3 to share today.
The face of this particular paper doll stamp (from Paris Flea collection) has such expression. You just know she is a mischief maker!
This is approx 4″ x 11.5″
A That’s Crafty white/greyboard heart with heart Dinky Stencil.
It’s fun to mix and match the Character Construction stamps. I gave her a hat with a sweet little floral detail added.
This wooden word was the perfect detail to create balance.
The stamped crinoline is made into a skirt with the addition of lace and pretty trim.
Sweet messages hang from her wrist
with a Redlead Paperworks sentiment stamped onto a painted wood stick.
Thank you so much for your visit. I just thought that there seems to be an air of negativity in the world at the moment that a few photographs of paper doll projects would lighten the atmosphere, even if only for a few moments.
I hope you are enjoying spending time with those young lady paper dolls.

Love – A Simple Word (The Stampers’ Sampler)

Hello!
This week, I have decided to bring some fun and whimsy to my blog. I have scheduled a post for each day.
The reason for such activity, I received the recent issue of The Stampers’ Sampler and so happy to see, amongst other bits ‘n’ pieces, some Character Constructions paper dolls, each with a declaration of love.
Catherine Moore’s stamps have the most amazing details and I sort of went to town on each project, detail overload!
The six paper dolls work as a collection but when I was making them, I divided them into two groups. One of the dolls I am sharing today is from the group which features a fabulous That’s Crafty heart adhered to a wooden stick onto which the paper doll rests.
This project is approx 4″x11″… quite tall!
This is one of my oldest Character Constructions stamps, actually one of my oldest stamps as it was bought early on when I really started to get into stamping. Of course there is fun in stamping and yes, even I am coming around to fussy cutting (!) but the most fun is assembling and adding details.
A stamped bow adorns her head with a tiny detail made from some ribbon. She holds flowers in one hand and a precious Valentine in her arm. Can we guess that she is going to visit her Valentine or maybe this is the Valentine gift she has received!
Behind her, you can see that I stencilled the lovely Dinky Stencil Long Hearts Background from That’s Crafty, stencilling with clear texture paste then painting with Frescos.
Peeking from beneath her lace skirt is a crinoline (from Paris Flea No. 3)
The wooden stick painted with Frescos and stamped with a Redlead Paperworks stamp (from this set). The sweet, sparkly heart is from my lovely friend Dorthe.
With this collection I have decided to not be apologetic about the shabby style of them. Most of what I work on these days sees me step further away from shabby chic but there are times when it just seems the perfect fit and if I am honest, when I am making something, I never approach it with the conscious thought of this will or will not be shabby, grungy or whatever, it all just happens.
Many thanks for your visit.

Let Me Call You Cupcake

Hello Everyone
I know, St. Valentine’s Day has now passed by but I had this post drafted so decided to go ahead and share it with you anyway. To wait another 12 months seems an awful long time!
When I do vintage it is usually vintage, meaning faded colours, torn and tattered lace but this time I am dipping my toes into a slightly more Retro vintage feel for a fun Valentine cupcake!
Redlead Paperworks not only stock amazing stamps and stencils, they also have an abundance of collage sheets covering different themes and styles. When I received some of their Valentine Cupcake collage sheets (link below) I knew they would be fun to play with even though I would be working with slightly bolder colours to what I prefer.
Redlead Supplies
Cupcake Collage Sheet No. 10 Valentine Cupcakes
Ancestors Collage Sheet No. 8
Valentine Rubber Stamp – Little Labels
Valentine Rubber Stamp – I Came To Enquire
Valentine Rubber Stamp – Romanticism In Art
A cupcake on stand makes this a fun alternative to a Valentine card. Tucked into a wooden frame, given a lovely Liquid Glass treatment, are a couple from one of Redlead’s collage sheets. I wanted dimension and fun elements on this cupcake, such as the pompom trim.
A gathering of stamped images declaring their adulation for one another.
I played around with one of the Redlead stamps to create my own sentiment.
All cupcakes should have a topping – here, a small wooden heart painted and then some Liquid Glass.
Now, I would say that needs to be a line drawn under all things Valentine!
Many thanks for your visit.

Quite a few of That’s Crafty’s own products appear. If you would like to view the post, then please click HERE.

Hello Everyone
A little touch of vintage whimsy to share with you featuring wonderful Catherine Moore’s Character Constructions stamps, in celebration of St Valentine’s Day.

French Laundry 6 and 11
Let me introduce you to Bella, a young woman who is smitten by the notion of everyone feeling loved and whether or not she herself will receive a hand-delivered Valentine, it will not cloud her enjoyment of this holiday for Bella is on a heart filled mission. Bella does not clutch a prettily wrapped heart to gift to her sweetheart, for Bella knows that on the 14th of February, displaying love and affection should not be limited to merely between sweethearts, everyone should be made to feel special, to be reminded that they are loved. So dressing up in her finest, including a hat adorned with all manner of snippets from velvet ribbons, a sequin, possibly a pearl or two,
and a shy smile on her face, for Bella knows the power of a sweet smile, from morning to dusk on the 14th of February, Bella will shyly introduce herself to those who she knows deserve a sweet heart to be bestowed upon them. Whether they might be feeling lonesome or someone who she knows shares their heart so willingly and selflessly to others each and every day of the year, Bella, for one day, lets love shine upon them.
Of course, such a day requires a new dress and so it is customary that each year, Bella, in anticipation of St Valentine’s Day will select a pretty fabric to create a Valentine Day dress. This year, her eye was caught by the springtime colours in this pretty floral fabricand she could not resist the extra purchase of a few delightful trims in the form of some raspberry velvet and delicate Cluny lace.
Head to toe in pink, yes, she now feels ready, for there is work to be done!
Bella knows that sharing our hearts is a gift in itself which can be given any day of the year, to sweethearts and beyond.
