Notebooks are one of my favourite gifts to send and receive, whether mini sized for handbags or larger sketchbook size. I like that something practical can be tailor-made to suit the person you are making the gift for and after all, everyone uses notebooks.
The stamp used is Crafty Individuals CI-285, a beautiful, generous sized stamp.
This stamped so beautifully onto stained fabric, a defined image which is not always the result when stamping directly onto fabric. As this is quite a large stamp I decided to keep embellishments to a minimum adding some dyed lace, measuring tape tied into a bow and a MOP button. To form the notebook I covered recycled greyboard with canvas which I painted with emulsion paint in my absolute favourite colour, Camisole Pink.

Lovely! Did you make the note book with a Zutter? Or is it a purchased one. I am inspired to make some of these. Thanks so much for another great idea!

This is a great decorated notebook – I love to decorate notebooks too – much better than a plain boring covered book isn’t it!!

You are so right Lynne, everybody needs a notebook. I got a nice one from my son for my birthday, too big for a handbag though, and definitely not as feminine. Great job.

So pretty–you’re right, that stamp doesn’t need a bunch of extras. It’s one that can definitely stand pretty much on its own, and you showed that perfectly!

Love the subtle way you have coloured the fabric. It is a beautiful front to any notebook. I don’t think you can have too many books to write or draw in!
Have a lovely evening

Love your notebook, so much more elegant that the one I made myself recently (torn scraps of paper held together with a bulldog clip, lol). xx
