Art Girl

Hello
I am sure you can relate, I do not like anything going to waste, so when I had some of the frame elements, left over from creating shrine samples for That’s Crafty, I laid them aside knowing I could continue the fun later.
With That’s Crafty now re-stocking, selected Character Constructions stamps, I thought it would be fun to play with some of the Paris Flea stamps and give this art girl a cosy home.  I’ve played with Paris Flea many times since receiving the collection last year, it is fun to mix ‘n’ match and bring life to the paper dolls with your imagination.

All details of this project can be seen HERE, including specific stamps and how I formed the paper doll element.  I also sneaked in one of my Affirmations!  I still have more to write about the Affirmations but have to say, heartfelt thanks for the reaction, I never imagined I would ever have stamps and then to have them so warmly received, it has been overwhelming.

Thank you so much for your visits and your kind words about the sneaky peeks I’ve shared. It seemed such a big step to work on this journal and yet I enjoyed every minute of it and my regret is that time wasn’t on my side to have actually added some journaling which will be a huge step for me but one I am prepared to now challenge myself with.
I also appreciate that recent posts have been very much focused on new product launches and so I am even more grateful for your visits because hard sells can sometimes be too much!!!

That’s Crafty @ HOCHANDA, A Sneaky Peek!

Hello
With permission from Laura Holland, the DT for That’s Crafty are allowed to share sneaky peeks of the journals we worked on for the upcoming That’s Crafty appearance on HOCHANDA, Friday 17th March, two shows which are 7.00 a.m. and 11.00 a.m.
Many of you will know, That’s Crafty are continually adding to their own ranges of stamps, stencils, substrates and more.  The HOCHANDA shows will see some new products on HOCHANDA  with demos from Neil Burley, who always does incredible work in showcasing That’s Crafty products.
This was an exciting and personal project for me to work on. The first time I’ve completed a journal, a great challenge in itself and one I am keen to re-visit.  It was also another first but maybe that is still a secret for the moment!
A tiny peek at one of the double page spreads from my journal.  I will be sharing a sneaky peek, each day up until Friday.
Psst…. here is a link to HOCHANDA to view the That’s Crafty products available…. maybe my secret is not such a secret after all!!!!!

Thank you so much for all your visits. I have a great deal of catching-up to do with all of you, I have either had enforced time away from on-line activities or when I am here, trying to keep up with as much as I can in a short space of time.
Thank you for being so understanding.

Vive La France (Take Ten)

Hello
Sharing a wee collection which appears in  Take Ten magazine.
Last year, some reasons outwith my control but also, I didn’t seem to be in cardmaking mode, I didn’t really manage to submit the usual volume to Take Ten (or The Stampers’ Sampler).  When  I received Paris Flea stamp collection (Character Constructions) from  Catherine Moore, I knew immediately that aside from having some paper doll fun, I wanted to also focus on the lovely French/Paris related stamps, particularly stamp plate no 7.
That’s Crafty is now stocking select Character Constructions stamps, including some of the Paris Flea collection.  They are the only U.K. stockist.  If you have any queries, then I am sure Laura at That’s Crafty will try and help you with questions re availability, etc.
They are all mini cards (3″x 4″)
For each card, I worked with some (to me) precious vintage French receipt paper, it has taken me all my time to use this book of receipts because once finished I doubt I will ever replace it, such items are something I struggle to source.

The printing on the vintage paper determined placement of stamps – the numbers stamped alongside the printed No. on this second sample.  To utilise scrap pieces of the vintage paper, I stamped little elements, such as the postal mark and sentiment, layering onto the cardbase.

Embellishments were deliberately kept to a minimum for a few reasons.  I wanted it to be more of a stationery set as opposed to individual greeting cards. The tiny pieces of cut ribbon are only there to bring another layer of French flavour, I didn’t want any such details to smother the stamps and I did not want the paper to be obliterated by “this and that”.

Just enough room to add a flag to the Eiffel Tower!

Thank you to Catherine Moore for creating such wonderful stamps and to Stampington for publishing this wee card collection and THANK YOU to you for visiting this post.
