In The Stars (Somerset Studio Gallery)

Hello!
In the Summer issue of Somerset Studio Gallery I am so happy to have a Spotlight on four mixed media panels featuring PaperArtsy products:- stamps, Grungepaste and Fresco chalk acrylics.
This is a photo heavy post so I will keep chat to a minimum!onelynnempaOn each panel I wanted the texture to be prominentonetwolynnempaand on each, a star would be the focal alongside sentimentsonethreelynnempaand sparkle.onefourlynnempaNo. 2twolynnempaA hint of yellow to represent the sun.  I was so happy at the texture achieved on this area of the panel.twoonelynnempaNo. 3threelynnempaSmudges of Pewter catches the light beautifully alongside mica flakes.threeonelynnempaI absolutely love Sara Naumann’s word stamps as it is so relaxing to play around with the words to form my own sentiments.

Doesn’t time just disappear when you have paints and stamps and set to work on backgrounds.  I’ve said ofte.fouronelynnempaThe changing colours of the panels depending on how the light catches the paint and mica flakes.
fourtwolynnempaGrungepaste is a “must”.  I’ve used other texture pastes but nothing compares to Grungepaste for that perfectly imperfect grungy quality.fourthreelynnempaIt was fun to let loose with texture on each of those panels even though the style is bolder than my “norm”.
This was a big issue for me as my artwork also graces the cover!1som-gal1602-somerset-studio-gallery-summer-2016-300x300
Thank you so much for your visit.

Garden Delight (The Stampers’ Sampler)

Hello!
After being involved with creating samples for PaperArtsy, for what were at the time, new releases, two sets designed by Sara Naumann.  One of the sets was ESN15 and for the samples I played around with the bird, in particular using his wing to form a flower.  I wanted to play around further with that wing, the following cards are the result of that playtime.  They had gone completely out of my mind until they made an appearance in the summer issue of The Stampers’ Sampler.
p1080484Bird stamps are amongst my favourites although he is more whimsical than what I usually ink up.p1080481The wing was begging to be made into a daisy style flowerp1080483and tulips!p1080492The backgrounds are heavy in texture with Grungepaste and Fresco paint,
p1080494with an ESN handwritten script stamped here and there along with circles stamped with Frescos.p1080496The wing makes another appearance!p1080497A lone daisy.p1080499Looking at the cards after all this time, I wish I had included a sentiment, even just a word.  At the time I played around with a stamped sentiment and remember ruling against the addition as I wanted the background to be seen and I could not settle on placement of words/sentiment but now I look at each card and they are all lacking “something”.p1080502Stamping with paint brings another wonderful layer of interest to mixed media backgrounds.
p1080500The final card sees the birdie making a return appearance.p1080487Making my own flowers allowed the freedom to create slight variations.p1080491Thank you to The Stampers’ Sampler for their feature.
Also, thank you for visiting this blog post. I tend not to mention my life beyond crafting but I wanted to explain that health matters are hindering me from visiting your Blogs and other on-line activity but I am trying to build up my on-line time and sure do hope to get “back on track” soon.
Thank you for being so loyal.

Make Your Mark @ PaperArtsy

Hello Everyone
I am very late in sharing this blog post!
Last Monday evening I had a tutorial over at PaperArtsy. It is always fun to be involved with a PaperArtsy tutorial as they always come up with such wonderful and varied themes for us to work with. I knew in advance I would be doing some mark making and also working in conjunction with JOFY stamps.
Here is a peek at the projects made for the tutorial…blogphotoIf you would like to view the tutorial it can be seen HERE.
Sorry I haven’t managed to visit your own blogs.  I wish I could say it is because I am in a creative whirlwind but that is not the case but hopefully soon I will be back amongst my supplies.  Your visits are always appreciated by me, especially during those times when I cannot find my way to your own blogs.

Heart of a Relic @ Craft Stamper

Hello Everyone
Being a small part of the That’s Crafty DT is so rewarding and so it was really lovely to see all the DT, as a collective: Alison, Amanda, Donna, Fliss, Moira and me, in the October issue of Craft Stampercs_197-oct16We all received two sizes of That’s Crafty MDF hearts to create with for the Craft Stamper 3D Challenge.
I am only permitted to share a sneaky peek of my project which really doesn’t give much away!  I think it is okay for me to tell you that this is a peek at a piece of jewellery which features many of my favourites craft items.  That heart is actually a stamp, all our projects had to feature stamping.
lynnemoncreiffCraft Stamper is available in the U.K., in shops and online and also available from Crafty Individuals site.
The MDF hearts we worked with are available from That’s Crafty, in various sizes.
Congratulations and Thanks to Laura and Graham for creating such fabulous products for us to play with and thanks also to Trish Latimer.

Remembering 9/11

Hello
Some weeks ago, I was approached by Christine Rice Cooper to participate in an anthology of reflections on 9/11, memories of that day and any significance to our lives and art.havefaithlynnemoncriefffeatherThe unfolding of what would become known as 9/11, can be played in my mind as though watching a film. Geographically, the distance is 3,000 + miles away but the impact of the horror, I doubt if I could have been more shocked if it had happened within this island I live on. Emotions transcend geographical boundaries, this was a disaster which resonated with us on a human level, of fear, of confusion, of grief and even, anger.
My recollections of that day and those of so many others, can be viewed HERE.
Many thanks to Chris Rice Cooper for having me be a small part of this anthology.
