Hello Everyone
I have a card to share which was made months ago and has already made an appearance at the Darkroom Door Blog.
This card features a stamp from the Etched Flowers stamp set (all details can be found in the blog post at Darkroom Door).
You can faintly see the French book text peeking through the light wash of paint.A gathering of fragments:- fabric, stamped script, painted burlap, etc. That piece of floral fabric might be tiny but I liked the pop of pink and red against the Kraft and other neutrals.A quick post but you will understand that I do not want to write a lengthy post when all information is available in the Darkroom Door post.
If you are a fan of Darkroom Door then you can keep up-dated on product news by signing up for the newsletter.

Challenge You To Be Brave (Take Ten)

Hello Everyone
It was the most wonderful surprise when I learnt that a card I submitted to Stampington & co’s Take Ten was selected for the Design Challenge department in the Autumn issue. This is where a card is interpreted into a sketch layout and the readers of Take Ten are challenged to submit their own card(s) to this particular design layout.
This card only came about because at the time I had received the All The Gals stamp set from That’s Crafty and I was having a play around, planning a DT project. My initial plan was for the card to be a DT project for That’s Crafty but at the last minute I laid it aside to submit to Take Ten, never imagining this result!
This is exciting for me so you can imagine that I wanted to share with you however it didn’t seem correct to share the actual card or the layout as the deadline for submitting is still active (deadline is October 15). A compromise, to share this little peek at my card! Many Thanks for your visit to this post.

Hello Everyone
Every Tuesday, my lovely art friend and prolific artist, Marjie Kemper, shares art which has caught her eye as she visits Blogs from around the world. This feature Marjie calls Tuesday’s Texture and it was a great honour to learn that a canvas I made as a Guest Designer sample for Redlead Paperworks was to be selected for this feature.
If Marjie’s Blog is one you have not visited before then please rush over there as you will not be disappointed, she is an incredible Mixed Media artist whose speciality is working with Ranger products, stencils and journalling.
Thank You so much for your visit to this post today.

Hello Everyone
My first post for this brand new week sees me sharing two cards, a birthday card for a cousin and a card sent as a thank you to a lovely couple (friends of my parents, who showed me kindness) but the cards also double up as team samples for Crafty Individuals as on each card I used one of their new stamps, CI-416.
A quick post as there are no detail photographs to share.
The cards are different sizes but essentially are duplicates using the same paints, fabrics and washi tape and adorned with lace roses stained/painted to co-ordinate.For the birthday card I also made use of another Crafty Individuals stamp, CI-407, an Elements stamp comprising various sentiments. The actual stamp has the sentiment surrounded by an ornate frame so I stamped onto tissue paper, removing the frame element before adhering to the cardbase. I might have used the stamp as a whole but it didn’t work with the composition. Thank You for your visit to this post.

This Delicate Heart Which Has Strength

Hello Everyone
Hearts may seem an odd choice in the middle of September, so far away from Valentine’s Day but I had a reason to be reaching for the Darkroom Door Hearts stamp set. Two lovely friends of mine were in need of a little something to know that I was thinking of them because both of them were dealing with the most difficult of times in their lives. Initially I thought of sending a card but I wanted something that was longer lasting, a reminder to them each day that they were in my thoughts and with a personal message written on the rear of each heart to which I would hope would bring them comfort and strength if they felt the need for it.
For both friends, hearts are something which I associate with their art lives so that is the reason why I created a heart to send to each of them.
I already had the shabby roses prepared from the time when I made them for a few of my DT projects over at the That’s Crafty Blog, making extras to have on hand. Delicate shades of paint were applied after the heart had dried out, simply dry brushing the final touch of paint and a little dash of mica flakes. I did swither about the choice of the mica flakes and I am not convinced it was the right choice, maybe I should have left the edges plain. The second heart was made in the same manner with a different heart stamp from the set. This one has a more subtle pattern, a script pattern. This is another scheduled post. I am trying to keep my Blog active, especially any posts which relate to DTs, but I am finding it difficult to do this and also spend time visiting your wonderful blogs, all because I am unable to spend the time on-line that I would ideally like to. I really do appreciate that you are willing to visit and leave comments and please know that when I do sit here up-dating my blog that I do read your lovely comments.

Shine On Beautiful Butterfly

Hello Everyone
A quick post to share with you of a card I made for a friend’s birthday where I have used a variety of Darkroom Door stamps.
Stamps:-
Flourish Texture Stamp
Full Bloom Vol 1
Butterflies
Black cardstock is something I rarely use but it was when I thought about playing with mica powders for this card that I decided to reach for some black cardstock to heighten the effect of the powders.
Does anyone know how to photograph mica powders?!! I certainly had a struggle.
Along with the mica powders I also dipped into some gilding waxes, randomly applying here and there, not only on the butterfly but also on the background and sentiment. Some lovely teal velvet ribbon is all I embellished the card with.
I definitely would not want to work with black cardstock all of the time but now and again, yes, I could see that I might try and use it a little bit more often.
Many Thanks for your visit to this post.
