Her Menacing Ways (TSC#23)

There is a new theme at The Stampsmith Challenge, Hallowe’en set by our lovely host Karen.  I would like to point out some changes at TSC.
. Starting today you will have one entire month to join TSC
. Your artwork must feature at least one of The Stampsmith stamps.
There will continue to be a Prize Draw with one lucky winner’s name being drawn at the end of the month.
Over at TSC you will be able to view the DT samples for Hallowe’en and you will see our two new DT members have created artwork for this challenge.
What does Hallowe’en mean to you, is it Gothic and sinister, or do you prefer vintage Hallowe’en or what about Too Cute To Spook. For all rules on participation please head on over to The Stampsmith Challenge. At the challenge site you will also see the Top 3 artwork for the Autumn challenge and the Prize Draw winner’s name.
Hallowe’en artwork is not something I get very excited about, I much prefer viewing other crafters’ spooky creations. That is the thing about challenges, sometimes the DT member herself is challenged LOL. The witch from The Stampsmith’s Wizard of Oz plate was my stamp choice. This isn’t a plate you see used very often which was one of my reasons for selecting it.I wanted a slightly grungy style so loosely painted washes onto watercolour paper before stamping with paint.
Torn text scrapbook paper, dyed gauze and a silver sticker coloured with ink and paint create detail.Scraps were added such as old German text which is wonderful for its Gothic appearance, vintage lace, teeny piece of the dyed gauze all stapled together.
We hope you will have fun with this challenge. Hallowe’en is not to everyone’s taste but you could have fun with  pumpkins or  playing dress-up (or what was known as Guising in Scotland), it is after all your interpretation of Hallowe’en. Good Luck. Lynne x
P.S. I will return later with another post  including details of another challenge.

A reminder that today is Day 2 of Cindy’s Free On-Line Seminar. Invaluable advice from Cindy on blogging. Cindy is so generous with her time and knowledge. Click on the link to take you to Day 2 and catch up with Day 1 of the seminar. Lynne x

I like it. The background is very unusual for a Halloween card, but fits perfectly.
