Don’t Box Her In

Hello Everyone
This scheduled post has a box I altered earlier in the year. In a former life it had contained jewellery, probably a necklace and was ripe for altering. At the same time I unearthed it I had recently received from The Stampsmith DT stamps, one of which was Ophelia. She comes in many forms, this is one of the large versions.  The other Stampsmith stamp used is from the Cartolina Postale plate, now I wonder how I managed without it in my stash as it is a useful plate of stamps to have especially for details or backgrounds.
Dimensions:- 4.5″x4″x1.5″After priming the box I painted with Portrait Pink and Cream acrylics. I wanted a slightly distressed/classical appearance so after I’d stamped Ophelia onto the tissue paper I slightly crinkled it before adhering to the box. Dissolved walnut ink crystals were mixed with a dash of Tattered Rose and Victorian Velvet re-inker and then gently applied around the image.  The crackle stamp is from Crafty Individuals. On the edges of the box I stamped directly one of the Cartolina Postale stamps and trimmed the box with lace and for the front of the box a shabby bow made from vintage seam binding dyed with re-inker. I doubt if I will ever become bored of Ophelia.
Sending wishes and thanks for taking the time to visit.
Lynne

you distressed the box so beautifully before adding the stamped tissue paper, and Ophelia looks stunning on your box.with laces and the soft rose.
